Hong Kong’s Healthy Restaurant Guide 2016 – Causeway Bay

After scouting around Central and Admiralty and Wanchai for the best places to eat healthy, we’re now heading to Causeway Bay. In this latest Healthy Restaurant Guide, you’ll find there are plenty of choices to eat healthy in the busiest shopping district in Hong Kong. 

From classic Cantonese, to Japanese and Korean, organic eateries to vegan options, here are the top places in Causeway Bay to fill up on all the good stuff.  

Cedelecedele_butterboomA Singapore import started in 1997 as a bakery but has evolved into a popular destination for nutritious dishes. Set in a chilled atmosphere with laid-back vibes and modern aesthetic, Cedele offers a menu with items sourced from organic ingredients. On the menu are dishes like wild mushroom soup, beetroot avocado sliders, chicken fillet with salad, prawn & poached egg pasta- all for a very reasonable price with set lunches starting from HKD$95.

Chang Le
Perched on the 7th floor of L. Square building on Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay is Chang Le, a local diner serving Cantonese vegetarian dishes alongside Sichuan and Hunan cuisine. The location might be tricky to find, but it’s worth the effort for the delicious vegan dishes on offer, especially the tofu balls and vermicelli with imitation meat.

Cooked Deli by City’Super
Good ol’ City’Super is a staff favourite at ButterBoom – we love the variety of food stations that offer a selection of healthy dishes like wraps, salads and sandwiches at a reasonable price. If cold dishes aren’t your thing then grab a nutritious snack from the supermarket. A place for a grab-and-go meal.

Helmed by Chef Gianni Caprioli of Gianodo in Wan Chai is EAT.it, a casual Italian restaurant located on Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay. EAT.it serves a range of Italian favourites in a cafeteria-style setting where you’re given a card upon arrival to take to different food stations. Food stations include pasta, pizza, desserts, cold cuts and salads, all made from authentic ingredients imported from Italy. The restaurant itself is spacious and perfect for a quiet afternoon to catch up with friends.

Harmony Village Vegetarian
If you’ve never been a fan of vegetables, Harmony Village Vegetarian is the perfect place to have you convinced otherwise. Try an extensive option of hearty Chinese dishes (served with imitation meat) as well as the variations of dumplings, noodles, soups and vegetarian dishes like steamed broccoli.

Hungry Korean
Hungry Korean is a popular fast-food chain serving cheap Korean food made with no artificial flavourings or MSG. The store is tiny and usually packed, so be prepared to wait for a table for a quick dinner. Hungry Korean offers all the popular Korean dishes like bi bim baps, kimchi pancakes and beef soup.
