There’s no doubt that summer has arrived in Hong Kong. Soaring temperatures mean that the only place you want to be is by the beach or the pool. If you are stressing about looking anything but your fashionable self during these sticky months, never fear- Butterboom has got you covered with our Guide to Hong Kong Swimwear Designers. Look fabulous and support our own independent design talent.

Itsie Bitsie

Itsie Bitsie is designed by Hong Kong native Christina Wilkinson who sources and produces their swim and resort wear in Bali. Catering for a wide range of sizes, they stock cup sizes A-F for tops, and UK sizes 6-14 for bottoms. At HK$400 for bikinis and HK$900 for swimsuits, its not the cheapest swimsuit you’ll buy, but the selection of super cute bikinis, one piece, cover ups and kaftans makes it worth every penny.

Relative newcomers to the Hong Kong swimwear scene, Papeete Swimwear has made a splash with their exotic designs. Founders Jen and Lulu created the brand to provide a stylish alternative to the limited swimsuit stores in the city. Each collection is inspired by different cities around the world, and we are loving their latest ‘From Paris with Love’ collection that is a feast of contemporary cut out detail and pastel colours. This brand is loved by fashion bloggers and has been featured in Marie Claire and Beyond: the St Regis Magazine. Going up to UK size 14, prices are mostly at about the HK$1,000 range. Shipping is free within Hong Kong, with delivery time at only three days.

Ok, so they might not actually be in Hong Kong, but this brand has been getting so much lip service from the fashionable set, that we had to give it a mention. Philippines based brand Wanderlust design well fitting and uber stylish swimwear for the fashionable sun seeker. Sizes go up to 34-36D on top and 38-39 inches on the bottom, and shipping to Hong Kong is very reasonable. With unique design detail such as plaited edging and striking print, this brand will not go unnoticed.
