Vein and its sister store Vein on St Francis Yard, are the go-to places for Scandinavian cool. Bloggers like Camille (Camytox, Camille Over The Rainbow) are flocking to Swedish Fashion Week to check out what the Scandanavian designers are coming up with. The looks are about great cutting, good fabric and generally a neutral colour palette (don’t get me wrong, designers such as Carin Webster are not afraid of colour)
Vein originally had their flag ship store (where they stock the higher end brands such as House of Dagmar, Altewai Saome, Carin Webster and By Malene Birger) at another location in Causeway Bay. Due to demand from customers, they opened a new store at Lee Gardens One. Vein is the sole representative in Hong Kong for the brand By Malene Birger and have opened a specific space for her designs which decor wise differs from the pared back whiteness of the core Vein store.
The store in St Francis Yard offers less range but has more of a relaxed vibe in accordance to the area. Stop in and usually they will serve you a free nespresso coffee. This store stock more menswear and also the “cheaper” brands such as Won Hundred, Humanoid, Filippa K, Cheap Monday and Swedish Hasbeens (they are the sole retailer of this brand in HK). Another very popular brand for the Vein customers is Baum und Pferdgarten which is known for their quirky prints. Vein have built up such a great relationship with Baum und Pferdgarten that they have specifically designed one off pieces that will only be available at Vein.
The items can be around $400 for a La Bruket candle to over HK$5000 for a Carin Webster coat. A top Butterboom tip (if you love their clothing) is to join the VIP list as you will get early notifications of their regular pop-up sales where it can be 20-50%.
