Repetto opens in Hong Kong - Butterboom

Avid flats-wearing ladies like ourselves were dancing for joy (literally) when we heard Repetto opened their first standalone store here. Possessing undeniable grace and lightness, their flats utilize “le cousu retourne” (stitch and return) technique, which paved the way for a 60-year legend of Repetto. What started as a high quality ballet shoe brand has turned into a fashion classic, touting collaborations with designers such as Karl Lagerfeld and Commes des Garcons.

Repetto Hong Kong - Butterboom

Their first Hong Kong boutique located in IFC is a 1015 square-foot space of pure French love. Inspired by their original flagship store at 22 Rue de la Paix in Paris, the store pirouettes to its roots and resembles a ballet studio, decked out in French-style lacquered wood and pink and gold decor. A second store has also opened in Ocean Terminal.

Both stores carry Repetto’s SS12 collection, inspired by French musicals of the 50s and 60s centering on playful colors and textures. Think sorbet colors like gourmet pink, baby yellow, rose and an amazon green. The candy-color displays of their BB flats is overwhelming at first but anything to get a piece of this French classic in our closets.
