Italian brand MSGM opens its first-ever overseas boutique in Hong Kong. The new store is located in Causeway Bay on Paterson Street.
MSGM was founded in 2008 by Italian designer Massimo Giorgetti. He was selected by Vogue as one of the best emerging designers in 2010 and is known for combining simple cutting and high-end fabrics with bright colours and patterns, reinterpreting traditional designs so expect styles that are funky with a bold use of textures and patterns.
MSGM SS15 women’s collection features birds to express freedom on tops, dresses, skirts, jackets and t-shirt. Details like embroidery, patch and sequins are used on fabrics like satin, chiffon, lace, denim and jersey cotton. Giorgetti’s talent and love for art and music are clearly evident in MSGM collections, where he removes the notion of age and instead brings individuality, creativity and modernity in his clothes.
The new Paterson Street boutique takes after the design of MSGM’s Milan and has a dynamic structure with black and white marble surfaces and yellow as a highlight to clearly showcase the brand’s philosophy in art and fashion. The Hong Kong store will also host small personal exhibitions of contemporary artists chosen by Giorgetti – with the first being Thomas Raat, a Dutch artist working on abstract forms and colours.
