High fashion retailer Lane Crawford has just opened Lab Concept in Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong. Lab Concept occupies 64,000 square meters of retail space and has taken over the are previously occupied by Ms.Field and a host of fashion and shoe shops we can’t remember the name of.
Lab Concept is basically a space that curates up-and-coming, cult brands that are little under the radar all in one space. The concept store looks set to cater to the younger customer base of Lane Crawford that’s more hip and edgy and currently stocks brands that appeals to this audience like Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Scotch & Soda, Rag & Bone and Opening Ceremony.
At the moment it’s not really complete yet, Hong Kong Hustle reports that its only 30% done. There is a shoe and accessories section called “Shoespace” and cosmetic section called “Faces”.
To launch Lab Concept, Lane Crawford partnered again for the second time with American Apparel with a pop-up section that features a range of vending machines that sells some of American Apparel best selling pieces!
Several of Hong Kong models, bloggers and DJs like Cara G, Maria, Milla Wu and Elly Lam are helping to promote this range and were invited to model their favorite American Apparel pieces in a re-creation of the original “Seen on Blogs” project.
