James Suckling Wine Central Opens in Hong Kong

International wine critic James Suckling, former Senior Editor and European Bureau Chief of Wine Spectator. His website – JamesSuckling.com – is a popular wine media platform widely read and respected by wine lovers, serious wine collectors and the wine trade worldwide.

Now, the wine critic reveals his new modern Korean fine dining restaurant and wine bar James Suckling Wine Central featuring more than 300 wines by the glass and 500 references in total on the list paired with the most delectable Korean cuisine. Stretched over 2,000 square feet, this impressive resto-bar is a partnership between James and his wife Marie with Hong Kong-based restauranteur Francesco Lee. The kitchen is headed by Chef Sang Hyun who has come up with a menu of sharing platters and individually plated courses with highlights such as Prawn Jang Rice, Hanwoo Beef, James Suckling Roasted Pig and more.

There are three different areas to the resto-bar – the bar, the lounge and the dining room. Naturally, the wine selection is one of the biggest attractions here with all wines on offered rated 90 points or more from the man himself. There is even a cellar selection, which features wines Suckling has been collection in his own cellar in Tuscany, and a 100-point wine list with wines Suckling rated perfect 10 point scores over his four-decade career as a wine critic.
