Famous Thai artist, Udomsak Krisanamis will be showcasing his first solo exhibition titled Planet Caravan in Hong Kong fro Nov 7-20 Dec at Gallery Lehmann Maupin. Krisanamis is an artist known for his spontaneous, abstract paintings using everyday materials like newspapers, supermarket flyers, noodles, and cellophane, even plywood mixed with traditional mediums of oil and acrylic paint. He decontextualizes these easily accessible materials to create layered and richly textured abstract compositions in his paintings.
Krisanamis work is spontaneous and emotive, he parallels his painting to musical improvisation as he weaves together color, line, and collaged elements in a rhythmic manner to form his compositions and often name his artworks from song titles and lyrics taken from his current playlist he is listening to while he is painting.
