The South Island Cultural District and Hong Kong Auction will hold the first-ever South Island Art Auction featuring 50 artworks from famous international artists to South Island based artists. It will be held on 11 December 2016 at Ovolo Southside and part of its proceeds will be donated to the local charity Food Angel.

Previews will be held on 9 to 10 December from 12pm to 7pm at South Island Cultural District or online at www.hkauctions.com. The auction lots will represent a selection of art works from some of the best galleries in Hong Kong. In fact, this is the first time in Hong Kong that there has been such a collaboration of galleries in Hong Kong for an auction.

Some of the works from popular artists that will be auctioned are as follows:

  • Zao Wou-Ki, Le Cerf (The Stag) 1951, estimate HK$350,000
  • Yoshitaka Amano, Deva Loka painting on aluminium, estimate HK$1,8m
  • David March, Hong Kong Girl, estimate HK$100,000
  • Ma Desheng, Cay, estimate HK$200,000
