Opera Gallery is running the contemporary exhibition READYMADE by British artist Joe Black from now until October 7.
Black is best known for his large-scale multi-dimensional works, accumulations of thousands of miniature objects portraying the transient nature of today’s popular culture. His materials of choice, thousands of Lego bricks, badges, chess pieces, toy soldiers and cars, or candles, become direct metaphors for the image they create, and explore the relationship between art and object to create monumental, ironic, and tongue-in-cheek assemblages with meticulous detail.
