Projet Noir is a cultural and festive week about the Night, about the Black at The Space in Sheung Wan. The 5-days festival features an exhibition, a contemporary dance performance, a drama play, a curio-cabinet boutique and a black food dinner.

Projet Noir is an event organized by Parisians, Lalie Choffel and Alice Rensy together with a cast of collaborators to offers an exciting ballad in search of the beauties, the secrets, the pleasures and the symbolism of the Black, of the Night.

The Exhibition by Christophe Bonacorsi & Cabinet of Curiosities 

Christophe Bonacorsi conceives his work in the form of series that he develops from a single subject. Along monkeys and dogs, his work features his own face and body, painted in multiple ways, often in huge formats using a single color (black). Cabinet of curiosities is a presentation of unusual and curious objects of art and decoration including photographs, paintings, shells, stuffed animals, horns, minerals, jewelry, books , tableware that patrons can buy.

Nate Green’s black food dinner kicks off on the first night at 9pm. A black gourmet dinner inspired from a novel –La vie mode d’emploi by Georges Perec is recreated by chef Nate Green who has put together the art x food menu. 

Drama : “We lost the Night” (in French, English subtitles, Cantonese booklet) ” “We Lost the Night” is a 60 minutes show written by Fabrice Michel in collaboration with Lalie Choffel. The piece, performed by two actors and a dancer, is inspired by Pascal Quignard’s text “La Nuit Sexuelle” (The Sexual Night)  is about the impulse that gives life, about human, mythical and romantic mechanisms accompanying love, life and death. 

Dance : “Vespers” is a 55 minutes dance created by Alice Rensy with dancers from China and Hong Kong is an emotionally charge dance performance based on  solos, duets movements with video interventions to take the audience into a journey on a midnight bath in the sea.
