Fabrik Gallery will show the artist Pang Yongjie’s works entitled “Sensual Encounters” from 14th May to 12th June 2015. Pang is widely recognised as one of China’s leading ‘Post-contemporary’ abstract artists.
His signature style of sensual fleshy, maternal and often humorous abstract female forms is modelled on female figures of Tang Dynasty art. His women are endearing, robust and vividly bold in colour and form. Yongjie paints his women as full bodied, bright lipped creatures of delightfully voluptuous curves, generous breasts and hips.
About the Artist
Pang was born in Shandong Province, China, in 1968. He studied oil painting, Chinese inks and watercolours at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Shandong Normal University. And by mid-2000s, had developed the abstract figurative style for which he is renown for.
His works have been widely exhibited across China, in several Asian countries, in the USA, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. And his work already has a strong secondary market.
Date: 14 May to 12 June 2015.
