The curatorial office and gallery Mur Nomade presents Recollections, a group exhibition by three female artists from 10 October to 24 December 2015, that deals with the subject of memory in post-trauma contexts. The three artists are Ana González (Colombia), Ivy Ma (Hong Kong) and Nastaran Shahbazi (Iran). To complement the exhibition, writer Cally Yu has written a short story titled Half-Winged Dragonfly.
This is the first time González and Shahbazi are presenting works in Hong Kong. González’s Pass I Flora series showcases her use of both fine art media and crafts while Shahbazi’s contribution focuses on her unique technique in etchings. Local artist Ma features a series of videos and paintings, Birds, Last Gaze and Hands 005, all of which explore the artist’s relationship between reality and memory.
There will also be a meet-the-artists session on 7 November 2pm with Ma and Shahbazi as well as a two-day printimaking workshop with Shahbazi on 29 November and 6 December.
