Local Hong Kong artist Kwong Wing Kwan is exhibiting his celestial bodies inspired work titled Suspending World at Artify Gallery from 14 October to 22 November, 2014. The exhibition is a metaphor for our struggle with the uncertainty of faith.

Kwong has a deep interest in this area and sought to express this visually with comparison of galactic phenomena with real life. The artist is fascinated by the way black holes annihilate and nurture Space at the same time and how human beings struggle to control their life and fight against destiny.

Using hands as a symbol of “control”, the series feature both monochrome and works with colourful dyed backgrounds. The marbling technique used, tread the fine line between the controllable and the uncontrollable, reflecting the artist’s aesthetic choice as well as the paradoxical nature of the subject discussed.  Kwong’s works are rich in metaphors and symbols as he explorates the relationship between man and destiny.
