From the 20th to the 28th November, the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association will be launching its first Hong Kong Art Gallery Week. This annual event will feature a series of exciting art events taking place city-wide and looks set to become an event to mark on your calendar.

Each year the event will focus on a geographic location starting, this year, with China. Talks lead by leading Chinese art critics and curators, visits to iconic contemporary Chinese artist’s studios as well as exciting art walks are just some of the artistically stimulating events set to take place during the week.

Hong Kong is fast becoming a major art hub and is already the third largest auction market in the world. Unfortunately the gallery scene in the city is still limited to a selected crowd. Because of this, the Hong Kong Art Gallery Association hopes to use the weeklong event to encourage more people to gallery hop around Hong Kong and learn about the different cultures of contemporary art. Be you an art professional, art student or just a lover of art, note this event in your calendars because you won’t want to miss it!
