The Chai Wan Mei Art & Design Festival is happening on the weekend of 14 and 15 March.  Free to the public, this local arts festival will take place all around Chai Wan –  Chai Wan Industrial City Phase 1, Federal Centre, Paramount Building, Asia One Tower, Kailey Industrial Centre Block A, Sunview Industrial Centre Block D, Man Foong Industrial Building and Youth Square, and Info Point at Chai Wan Industrial City Phase 1. Free roundtrip shuttle buses are available every 30 minutes over the weekend and will take visitors from venues where the art festival is held. 

Co-organised by art personalities like Katie de Tilly of 10 Chancery Lane, Claudia Albertini of Platform China Contemporary Art Institute, Peter Lau of Asia One and Wilson Chiu of Pure Art Foundation, the festival includes over 45 activities spanning from art shows, guerrilla art installations, performances, pop-up exhibitions, workshops mixing art into our everyday life.

Highlights of the festival:
Art Programme curated by Inti Guerrero
Hong Kong-based Guerrero presents Videos and Words from a Post-Industrial City, featuring a series of rogue art installations by established and rising local and international artists. The video-curated show consists of 10 video pieces and five neon-text-based works.

Performance Programme curated by WING Platform
Using books and the art of storytelling, visitors will be engaged in different narratives in this unique performance by Scarlet Yu, Elysa Wendi, Yu-Chen Wang, Didier Faustino and Caroline Ha Tuc.

Other exhibitions include Black and White Cats featuring Huang Rui and Wang Keping; Dear, Why Freedom? featuring Jin Shan, Sun Yuan and Peng Yu; Erosion by Latitude 22NN.

Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers, Youth Square Printing Art Gallery and Insight School of Interior Design are all hosting workshops for more details, visit
