Artshare.com, the world’s first online platform dedicated to selling modern and contemporary art, opened its first exhibition featuring stunning pieces by a select handful of artists whose works helped shape the contemporary art scene of Hong Kong. The show, entitled “Resistance”, is curated by Hong Kong-based French writer Caroline Ha Thuc and presents works that explore Hong Kong’s ability to create a singular identity out of the mishmash of cultures and languages.
“Resistance” features works by Adrian Wong, Lam Tung-Pang, Chow Chun Fai, Tsang Kin-Wah, Kwang Sheung Chi, Sarah Lai, Leung Chi Wo, Map Office, Stanley Wong (aka. Another Mountain Man), and Almond Chu. The fifteen chosen works of art showcase each artist’s impressive level of skill, concept and creativity and span across a variety of media including painting, sculpture, installation and photography. According to artshare.com, “The exhibition is anchored in locality, but more importantly expresses the latent ‘resistance’ to entrenched systems such as a laissez faire economy and the Basic Law, addressing a reaction to the specificities of Hong Kong today.”
