Gallery Exit is running two solo exhibitions concurrently featuring local artists Ko Sin Tung and Mak Ying Tung, from the 27th of June to the 25th of July. Based in Hong Kong, Ko works with painting, video, prints and various media. She is interested in the way images appear and perceived, and her works reflects and responds to her personal experiences. The exhibition titled A Closed Room features the artist’s paintings, photographs, installations and videos, inspired from her experience with the contemporary aesthetization and marketization of everyday life.
Counterpart Mak is interested in discovering something unusual in the minutiae of life. Her artistic practice combines installation, performance and illustration in which everyday objects are de-contextualized. Her exhibition Almost Empty features strange and bizarre objects with altered forms and function.
