Hong Kong Fashion Week designer spotlight.

Alex Wang‘s show at the Hong Kong Fashion Week held earlier this week features so many dresses you want to put in your wardrobe because they’re just so chic and glam! Okay, so some of the more see-through numbers might prove difficult to pull off but we can see why he’s said to be perfectly in tune with what the modern Asian women wants to wear.


Alex is a graduate of Beijing’s Central Academy of Fine Arts and set up the Alex Wang Couture Studio in 2004. It wasn’t long before he attracted fans from Chinese’s most stylish actress including the likes of Ziyi Zhang, Zhao Wei, Zhou Xun and Li Bingbing. He’s already featured in Vogue, Bazaar and Elle, and his line includes daywear, eveningwear, wedding growns and accessories.

Design sensibility

Fine handwork, embroidery and beading are all hallmarks of his style.

Signature style

Alex designs luxurious dresses and makes the women who wear his clothes feel graceful and chic. Think “Glam” with a capital G.
