Jill Vidal: Trouble in Tokyo

By Butterboom Writers  /  March 23, 2009

Unfortunately, this time, it’s no movie.

If you’ve been outside and looked at a newsstand or television in the past few weeks you know the “dope” on Janice Vidal.  Singer Kelvin Kwan (關楚耀) and Jill Vidal (衛詩) were arrested for alledged marijuana possession on a visit to Tokyo on Feb 24, 2009. They were arrested in the Dogenzaka shopping centre in Shibuya, no dates of their release have yet to be determined. Yes, we have just as stupid celebs here as they do in the U.S. Yay for Hong Kong!

For those of you who don’t pay attention to Cantopop: Jill Vidal, also known by the Chinese name Wei Shi, is a Hong Kong pop singer of mixed parentage (Filipino, Chinese, Korean). She is known for her Jade Solid Gold chart hit song Funny Jealousy, from her debut album Hit Me, launched in 2006 and will become even more famous now for her arrest in Japan.

Instead of focussing on her smuggling problems, we’ve decided to focus on her style – hey, have you seen anyone else make that leap in the Hong Kong media?

We love how great she looks in her fringe bob hairstyle. She’s got that rebel grunge look thing going and looks amazing even in a T-shirt. Let’s see if she can straighten herself out and charm her way back with the Hong Kong public and her record company.

We’ll be watching!
