Gaga Goes Gaga For Paco Rabanne

Lady Gaga dons five out-of-this-world outfits for MTV EMA awards.

It seemed that recently the one and only Lady Gaga was toning down her dress sense which shocked the world more than her ‘meat’ dress, but she was back to her outlandish best for the recent MTV EMA awards held in Ireland, showcasing a quintet of crazy looks from French designer Paco Rabanne.

Rabanne and Gaga are a match made in sci-fi heaven as they’re both creative creatures with a penchant for the ‘other worldly.’ Rabanne’s metal and plastic designs saw him become the ‘enfant terrible’ of the French fashion world in the 1960s, and his sci-fi influences are still showing strong with his latest Spring/Summer 2012 collection as showcased by Gaga during the awards ceremony.

For her stage performance, Gaga wore a red metallic two-piece and two huge red discs for the outer-space themed number.

The rest of her looks were paired with headwear by Irish milliner Philip Treacy. In fact, she accepted her first award of the night in a striking silver and black outfit, with a Treacy hat so huge you could barely see her face!

There was yet another crazy hat and dress to pick up the Best Video award – this time metallic olive with a peplum and extravagant shoulder detail – while she wore a dark metallic emerald skirt-suit with silver lace-up bodice and platform boots to accept the award for Best Song.

Finally, she strutted her stuff on the red carpet in a shimmering silver sheath to match her armful of awards. Seems the dress alone was too ‘normal’ for Gaga as she opted for silver eyebrows and blue lipstick to complete the look!
