Butterboom’s Best Dressed of the Week – 17 Nov 2011

By Butterboom Writers  /  November 17, 2011

Celebrity stylist Celia Wong takes a look at who wore what last week.

Last week, there were a couple of big events that warranted local celebrities getting into some gorgeous outfits; the main event of which was the Shanghai Tang Mongolian Village Opening Party held at the Ferry Pier.

Check out last’s week’s who wore what and our verdict on who was best dressed!

Celebrity: Sammi Cheng
Event: The launch of Glycel 20 Elements Cellular Renewal Concentrate
What she wore: H & M X Versace
Celia’s comments: Sammi is the best dressed this week. The yellow dress has a strong Versace flavour – golden fine studs in a square pattern. I love the way Sammi accessorizes to the finest detail – from yellow nails to yellow eye make-up to stocking and bangles of the same tone.

Celebrity: Cara G
Event: Shanghai Tang Mongolian Village Opening Party
What she wore: Shanghai Tang
Celia’s comments: Cara is wearing a very special dress with interesting mix-and-match elements. The upper half design is made of a see-through material with glittery sequins, while the lower half is made of solid fabric. The design is unique and beautiful, and of course her slender figure carries it all off.

Celebrity: Kathy Chow
Event: Shanghai Tang Mongolian Village Opening Party
What she wore: Shanghai Tang
Celia’s comments: Kathy carries the chic look very well. It’s a modern qi pao look (one-piece Chinese dress) that Shanghai Tang is famous for. The dress is made of lace, and the hard plastic collar adds a touch of futurism.

Celebrity: Tais Fortes
Event: Shanghai Tang Mongolian Village Opening Party
What she wore: I adore the purple evening gown on Tais. She wore an amazing modern cheongsam, which gathers elegantly at the top and ends in with a high slit showing off her sexy long legs. Very glam!

Celebrity: Charlotte Chen
Event: The launch of Glycel 20 Elements Cellular Renewal Concentrate
What she wore: Pleats please dress, Rag and Bone jacket, Raphael Young shoes
Celia’s comments: Pleats are not seen very often these days so Charlotte’s dress is quite refreshing, and the way it’s worn with a chic blazer is a showcase of a mix-and-match that works.
