Washing Your Wool and Cashmere Sweaters

You obviously want your favourite sweater to remain soft despite several washes. To do this, make sure to wash wool and cashmere in cold water only. Hand-wash if possible but if you are using a machine, use a delicate or woollen cycle and place your sweater into a mesh bag. Forgo the dryer and lay flat instead to dry into a natural shape. You can try The Laundress’s Wool and Cashmere Shampoo that safely and effectively cleans while keeping yarns soft. For more tips, check this out.

Washing Your Wool Coats

Hand-washing is always the best and safest method for washing woollens. Using a squirt of The Laundress’s Wool & Cashmere Shampoo to fill a wash basin or sink along with cool water. Soak your coat inside for 30 minutes and rinse well by running cool water until the rinse water is no longer soapy. Don’t wring! Instead, press the water out. If you are using the machine, place your item into a mesh bag and wash using a delicate/woollen cycle. Make sure the water is cold. Whatever you do, don’t iron your coat. There are more tips here.
