Swimwear styles have come a long way in recent years. These days, what you wear a fashion statement that many are showing off in their Instagram feed, where styles and trends are quickly evolving before we can even say splash!
One designer who has caught on this trend is Lisa Marie Fernandez. Her eponymous swimwear brand is made of the stuff all fashionistas would love to get their hands on – beach holiday or not. What makes Fernandez’s range of swimwear so unique is the stylish silhouettes that go beyond bikinis and one-piece, appealing to those looking for something different and yes, not boring.
Fernandez who used to be a freelance stylist and editor contributing to American Vogue turns to neoprene for her swimsuits. According to her, neoprene is the every woman’s best friend when it comes to swimsuits that flatter your body. The fabric moulds to your body and tucks in where you need extra help so that you look leaner, sportier and fitter.
The brand first started with seven neoprene bikini styles, which were all swept up after Fernandez’s first presentation at Paris Fashion Week. They featured unique silhouettes like off-the-shoulder ruffles and exposed zippers. Now, her suits (each one named after a woman the designer admired) are featured twice a year: Spring/Summer and Resort. Fernandez has also launched her destination-wear collection that features lightweight, relaxed shirt-dresses and skirts that takes you from poolside to city style.
