Proenza Schouler’s Head Designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough presented a lively collection for Pre Spring 2016. The New York based fashion house whose made a name for catering to the artistic crowd found inspiration from a recent trip to Cuba and the country’s charm shines through distinctively for this collection.

Cuba’s colorful spirit was the starting point for this collection with tropical botanical prints and strong references to Cuban culture like salsa dresses and pieces made from light tweeds evoking a holiday aesthetic. Swingy dresses resembling salsa dresses with ruffles and off the shoulder sleeves looked elegant and effortlessly pretty.  The Cuban inspiration also came through with a bold colour palette of vibrant shades of yellow, green and red that contrasted with neutral tones of black, grey and white. Each look was completed with low-heeled or lace-up mules with thick Cuban heels that look like salsa dancing shoes. Whilst not all us will be packing away for a holiday to the tropical Island, those bound in Hong Kong can get in the mood for the Caribbean with Proenza Schouler’s Pre Spring Collection.
