March is officially art month, with a stellar line-up of fairs organised around Art Basel (March 24-26), first with Art Central happening from March 23-26 and the Asia Contemporary Art Fair (March 23-26). Of course, creative expression extends to fashion, so now’s the perfect time to plan your outfits for a jam-packed calendar of opening nights and after-parties mingling with the art world’s best and brightest.

Spring heralds the arrival of floral and abstract prints, and key hues of yellow, red and green. Take outfit inspiration from the romantic floral prints from Dolce & Gabbana, Galliano and Bluemarine; stripes from Ralph Lauren and Gucci; vintage prints from Dries Van Norten; and playful pop art prints from Marc Jacobs.

In short: don’t be afraid to make a statement. Art season practically calls for style experimentation – you never know, you may find yourself landing a job as an artist’s muse.
