In his second season at the helm of Louis Vuitton, designer Nicolas Ghesquiere takes us through a time warp where 70s style hits are given an intergalactic twist. Model of the moment Jean Campbell opened the show wearing what we can now declare to be a Ghesquiere-at-Vuitton signature: a vintage-worthy mini-dress.
Throwback prints emerged to rule the runway – Mustang motifs and plenty of flower power borrowed from 70s interiors textiles. A must-have item from the show has to be the mid-rise velvet flares which came in about 6 different colour and print-ways. But before you write these styles off as retro has-beens; everything in the LV women’s SS15 wardrobe was re-imagined for today, made modern with patent trims, sharp, nipped waists and covetable monogram chain bags.
As always, accessories played a major role in adding those finishing touches – 1960’s style knee-high boots, round disc earrings and a selection of the seasons it-bags added that extra bit of luxe appeal to a undeniably bohemian collection.
