Ros Millar is definitely a name to watch out for.  Recently she won the Retail Jeweller UK Jewellery Awards 2013 New Designer of the Year title.  I was fortunate enough to meet this Irish born designer at her London studio recently.  (A side note that her studio is based in Cockpit Yards  – a collective where young talent from jewellery makers, artists , painting restorers etc all share studios, they have an annual open day which is worth visiting if you are in London)

What I love about her work is how organic her pieces are.  Made out of precious metals such as rose gold, silver and gold, her pieces look like something carved out of Nature.  Well, it kind of is.  Her collections evolve and all her pieces fit in well with each other.  A Meteor ring can be stacked with a Fine Band or a Heavy Chunky Band.  Another gorgeous feature of her work is that she listens to her materials and her designs evolve with the nature of the materials.  An example of this is when she was initially casting her Fine Bands from a Cuttle Fish bone cast and noticed some feathering from the metal; rather than wiping it out, Ros appreciated the beauty of this feature and incorporated it into her Feather Growth ring.

These are some of my selections from her work:
