Prepare yourselves for a full weekend of music and mayhem! Clockenflap, Hong Kong’s biggest music and arts festival returns for its fifth year to the West Kowloon Cultural District with an excellent line-up of the best of Hong Kong’s musicians and artists as well as some international favourites.

Get into the festival spirit by dressing up for your favourite musical genre. Punk it up, rock n roll out or go indie style and get ready for a music fueled weekend at Clockenflap!

We’re excited about the headlining acts planned for this year’s festival. Starting on Friday (27 Nov) we have Two Door Cinema Club, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Four Tet, Omar Souleyman and Austra. Saturday will host Franz Ferdinand, Chic (featuring Nile Rogers), Modeselektor, The 1975 and DJ Neil Armstrong. Metric, 2ManyDJs, Teagan and Sara, Benga and “the father of Chinese Rock music” Cui Jian will be performing on Sunday.

For our music loving readers, Butterboom will be running a competition for this event. The prize: two sets of tickets lasting the whole 3 days of Clockenflap!

Competition starts now! and ends on 25th November (Monday) at 2pm

Step 3: Tell us the band you are most looking forward to seeing at Clockenflap by commenting on our Facebook wall and add hashtag #BBClockenflap

We will select a winner on 25th November (Monday) and get in touch with the winners on 25-26 Nov.




  • Clockenflap kicks off on November 29th and will run over the weekend till December 1st.
  • Starts from 5-10pm on Friday and 12-10pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Venue:  The festival is set in the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade.

How much?

Tickets are available on and start at HKD$510 not including booking fees.

Student discounts are also available.
