Day 3: New Zealand Fashion Week A/W 2013

Our last day of New Zealand fashion at NZFW.

Day 3 of New Zealand Fashion Week kicked off with Salasai by designer Kirsha Whitcher with her Andes cowboy inspired theme collection featuring lots of soft linen, silk fabric pieces in earthy tones and a signature navy, white and deep brown jaggered pattern.

Designers showing on day 3 were Charlie Brown, Blak, Taylor and Anna Stretton and the much anticipated Stolen Girlfriends Club show which was held off-site in a carpark.

Australian label, Charlie Brown showed a glamourous collection featuring lots of gorgeous flapper style dresses in gold, sequins, leopard prints and lace. We absolutely adored the gold sequin and mesh knit and white dress with the feathered skirt.

Stolen Girlfriend, NZ’s edgy street label held their show in a cold dark carpark with over 1100 guests. Designers Marc Gosling and Dan Moore sent models off on a very long catwalk first in the dark with the only source of light coming from the glow of everyone’s mobile phones. Fluorescent tubes fitted onto concrete pillars lited the catwalk after the dramatic entrance. There were lots of leather, camouflage print, sexy black pieces. Standout pieces for us were the lemon dress with double-headed snake motif on the front and back and leather trimmed tight black dresses.

From the Blak show, we like the red lace dresses worn over black turtle neck dress and the black paneled leather dress.
