Jesse James and Mr. Magorium open today in Hong Kong.
Brad Pitt’s new cowboy flick The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, not only earns the ‘Longest Film Title of 2008’ but also shows us another lengthly delay for a US film appearing in Hong Kong. Jesse James opened in September last year and Dustin Hoffman and Natalie Portman’s new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-like film Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium opened in November showing us that movie companies only care about bringing action-movies to Hong Kong on the same date as the US (Last one was Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem on Boxing Day 2007)
Anyways, I guess we’ll take the ‘better late than never’ stance, even though, no doubt, both these movies, that only did so-so at the theatres, will be out on DVD in Hong Kong soon.
