Broadband Taxis in Hong Kong

We get the first mobile broadband taxis in the world.

SmarTone-Vodafone and Hong Kong CSL are doing a 3 month trial of broadband services on 100 taxis giving laptops download speeds of up to 3.6 megabits per second. This is NOT Wi-Fi, this is private broadband lines with easy to use connection set-ups.

Passengers can simply plug their laptops into the USB modem while they ride in one of these taxis, and SmarTone-Vodafone Mobile Broadband will enable them to enjoy free web browsing, email access and downloads via Hong Kong’s first and best HSDPA network. Customers can enjoy this super fast broadband connection everywhere in Hong Kong.

I dont usually have that long of a taxi trip around Hong Kong side – maximum 15 minutes, but I guess if you routinely get stuck in the tunnel to Kowloon or stuck in Central then this would be perfect.
