Things are always so much more fun when you’re doing them with a friend. Dressing the women of the world in grundy and totally-on-trend styles is no exception.
Liushu Lei (Shushu) and Yutong Jiang (Tong) are the Chinese duo behind womenswear label Shushu/Tong, leading a new wave of design talent taking Asia – and the world – by storm.
Lei and Jiang met during their studies at London College of Fashion, but moved back to Shanghai after graduating in 2015 to officially kickstart their label. It’s hard enough for most new talents to start labels let alone create buzz, but Shushu/Tong have pulled this off and caught the eyes of Lane Crawford and nominated as finalists for Lane Crawford Next Generation of New Talent.
So, what’s the deal with their style? Let’s take a look at the summer 2016 collection. Shushu/Tong captures the cool girls of LA adding a dash of prairie cute – proving that gingham goes far beyond tablecloths. If you like your wardrobe oozing street style with playful edge, keep a watch on these guys.
