Designer Kym Ellery is the brainchild behind her eponymous brand Ellery. Launched in 2007, this Sydney-based label has transitioned from a local Aussie brand to a cult label for its 70s -inspired tailoring. An Ellery garment is known for its exceptional cut that strikes the perfect balance between glamour and romance. Some of their popular pieces include the flamboyant flared pant and bell sleeve blouses that has become their signature staple.
Prior to launching her own line, Kym Ellery studied Fashion Design in Perth and worked as part of the creative team for Aussie fashion magazine Russh for 4 years. Her big break in the design world came when her she designed a pair of tights that was featured in Vogue. In less than 8 years, Ellery is one of the most exciting labels to emerge from Australia with its highly coveted designs that have won over many fans like musician Rihanna and supermodel Abbey Lee.
Ellery’s Spring Summer 2016 collection marked the debut of the designers first show at Paris Fashion Week and we see why its attracting all the buyers from high end department stores: luxe fabrics with distinctive designs that’s truly wearable and functional. Silhouettes adds volume to the body with oversized dresses with non-body flattering cuts that works well as a whole. Our favourite pieces are the tailored two pieces with exaggerated volume at the shoulders styled with tight trousers.
Ellery does not have a store in Hong Kong but their clothes are sold at Lane Crawford.
