Lanvin Fall 09

Lanvin shows timeless pieces for Fall 09.

The challenging economic times have had their effect on many designers. Albert Elbaz, of Lanvin, was of no exception.  From a first look, Lanvin’s Fall 09 collection had a sort of subdued feel, and displayed a back to basics attitude with the neutral palette of mostly black and nude.

However, this is not to say that the sophistication that the design house is famed for, was lost. Quite the contrary, as the exquisite draping that is signature of Lanvin took center stage amidst the simple fabrics. Elbaz’s genius for cutting, knotting, and playing around with a basic silhouette was evident in every dress, gown, top and skirt that went down that runway. Each article of clothing seemed a luxurious work of art and at the same time a go to basic that could be worn again and again for years to come.

Lanvin‘s Fall collection, despite world economic troubles, may have turned out to be one of the best just yet. It is proof that when times are seemingly bad, all a fashionable woman needs is a brand like Lanvin, who can inject a dose of practicality and magic into its creations.
