Ellie Saab’s In Constantinople’s Wake inspired collection.

Ellie Saab’s designs are one of the most coveted on red carpets and there is no question why, everyone wants to be an Elie Saabprincess. His Haute Couture collection for Fall/Winter is called ‘In Constantinople’s Wake’ is inspired by imperial splendour.

Karlie Kloss, US top model and ballerina (above) looks regal and absolutely decadent in this gorgeous gold dipped dress. The golden gown in ample volumes of silk organza wraps around her like a gold leaf in the form of guipure lace. This collection gathers all the delicacy and opulence in the world and it’s done right.

Think liquid crystals with silhouettes that are flowing and dresses with long trains with guipure lace, embroidery and gilded petals.  The colour palette is soft, with references to royal shades of champagne, peacock, sky blue, antiqued gold and jade. Spotted also was the occasional embroidered black tulle frocks.
