Dior Ballerina Winter 2012

Ballet-inspired, tonal elegance from Dior.

Dior’s first collection since the departure of John Galliano is femininity personified. Taking inspiration from masculine tailoring and teaming it with ballet femininity, acting Creative Director Bill Gaytten has created an elegant and refined collection.

Soft, tonal greys and pinks are paired with chunky houndstooth coats, waists are cinched and below-the-knee tutu skirts are flared. Meanwhile, leather inserts and oversized jewellery give pieces a tougher edge. The ballet theme runs all the way from head, with cute little berets, to toe, where chunky heels pay homage to the ballet shoe, right down to the ribbon ties.
