Scott Morrison takes the helm at Evisu.

Popular Japanese denim brand Evisu, recently welcomed its new CEO, Scott Morrison. Morrison is no stranger to denim, having co-founded Paper Denim and Cloth and Earnest Sewn, both big brands in the denim industry.

As global chief executive, Scott Morrison has big plans for Evisu, first up to simplify the brand image for Evisu, taking a back to basics approach, make improvements on the product and come up with a more contemporary collection.

For the unfamiliar, Evisu’s roots stem from Osaka, Japan, where it was founded by Hidehiko Yamane. Evisu skyrocketed to fame when they were among the first companies to successfully produce authentic vintage looking jeans. To add to their allure, each pair of jeans was hand-painted with the seagull logo by Yamane himself. Since then. Evisu has grown a fan base amongst Japan’s and the world’s fashionable set.
