Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2013 Collection

Retro silhouettes create an undeniable femininity.

Burberry Prorsum’s collections are always eagerly anticipated; since Christopher Bailey took the reigns the brands momentum has been unstoppable. Perhaps it is because their clothes are always so wearable or perhaps it is because they know the perfect mix between classic and playful, either way Burberry are kings of the castle. This season’s collection is characteristically chic; the signature trench is given yet another lease of life and volume is exploited to create a new, sensual silhouette.

There is undeniable femininity in the hourglass shape; skirts, dresses and even outerwear are cinched at the waist. This 40s inspired form extends to the cut of skirts and dresses which are provocatively tight and cut just below the knee, while the seriously covetable pant suit continues this with its on trend, cigarette pants and precise tailoring. The palette is characteristically Burberry; rich ochres, oranges and dark greys, with some pastel jewel tones and even some brighter punches of colour on the awesome clutches. You have to hand it to them, they know how to make clothes that every girl wants.
