Chanel’s 3D Haute Couture Winter Collection

By Lau  /  November 6, 2015

For A/W15, Creative Director Karl Lagerfeld has taken Chanel to a whole new level in the couture world by creating a collection with a 3D twist.

By combining the latest technology and traditional craftsmanship of Haute Couture, Lagerfeld has reinvented the iconic suit by creating a range of range of 3D suits. Impressively, each piece is made as one single piece with no seams and sewing resulting in suits with more form and structure- think boxy jackets and square shoulders in padded quilting. Even though Lagerfeld has used technology to help create this collection, the traditional craftsmanship of  embroidery still remains with suits with heavily embellished beaded and structured dresses adorned in ruffles, tulle and feathers. Once again, Lagerfeld shows his ability to modernise the House of Chanel and we can’t wait to see what he plans for next season.
