A contemporary spin on classic British heritage.
With the Fashion Weeks in full swing, we are already looking ahead to Fall Winter 2013. Mulberry, of Britain’s most coveted brands, showed what to expect from them this fall and it was a characteristic reworking of classic British heritage with a fun twist and, of course, some must-have leather goods.
As we’ve seen from several other designers, plaid is set to be big this fall. Creative Director Emma Hill sent it out on a variety of stunning outerwear including some gorgeous cropped jackets and coats. Floral prints aren’t going anywhere, but assume a more grown up aesthetic with a darker, richer palette. In general, autumnal shades of oxblood and a rich-pheasant green took centre stage, softened with an off white and coral-peach.
Bag wise, the popular Alexa and Del Rey have moved over for something more traditional. The Suffolk bags are more structured and glamourous, summing up the understated, elegant direction that Mulberry is taking this fall.
