The Fendi Silvana Mangano Boston Bag

By Butterboom Writers  /  April 16, 2015

Fendi‘s version of its Boston bag, is inspired by Italian actress Silvana Mangano,  a long-time Fendi customer.  Silvana Mangano is one of Italy’s most famous and acclaimed Italian actresses. Born in Rome in 1930 to an English ballet dancer and her Sicilian father, a wagon lit conductor, Silvana Mangano was a beautiful girl who was discovered from a role she played in the movie called Riso Amaro. She rose to international acclaim in movies like Ulisse with Kirk Douglas and Il Processo di Verona, Edipo Re, La Diga sul Pacifico. Married to Italian producer Dino De Laurentiis, she had four children with Veronica De Laurentiis being the eldest.

To create the Silvana Mangano Capsule Collection, the Italian brand worked with the actress’ daughter, Veronica de Laurentiis, to capture Silvana’s beauty and sense of elegance in every product. A portion of the sales from the Silvana Mangano Capsule Collection will go to benefit the Centri Silvano Mangano, a centre that Veronica created and named after her mother to helps victims of violence in small towns to break the silence and heal, giving them the chance to claim their lives back.
