Song For The Mute at Lane Crawford, Hong Kong

Australian fashion label Song For The Mute was founded by duo Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty in 2010.  The brand has garnered attention from the fashion world for its sculptural silhouettes, tailored pieces using high quality fabrics and neutral colour palette. Winner of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival Award in 2001 , and having also collaborated with hip-hop star Lupe Fiasco, SFTM is a label to look watch.

For A/W15, SFTM has created a tailored collection made from premium Japanese fabrics using the Needle Punching technique. Only 2 mills in the world are capable of such technique so it takes 18 months to create 2 types fabrics, meaning each design is limited in numbers and styles. We love the playful proportions with exaggerated details and our favourite from the collection includes the clean-cut shirts, knee length pleated skirts and the three-button Padded Blazer. We have our eyes on their well-made jackets.

SFTM does not have a retail store in Hong Kong but  is sold at Lane Crawford, ifc.
