Launching for Fall/Winter 2014, the Altuzarra x Target collection puts designer Joseph Altuzarra’s sharp focus on tailoring, fit, rich-looking patterns and embroidery techniques in the spotlight. While his muse is often the sexy, seductive woman, this collection for the retailer is slightly less sensual but still sassy. It is sophisticated but in a happy, girly way.
Altuzarra was the recipient of the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2011, the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design in 2012 and the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year Award for 2014. He credits his upbringing in France as influence for his collections. The highly sought-after designer is known for his ability to portray masculine cuts that enhance the female shape, capturing both sensuality and elegance.
There will be nearly 50 items in the Altuzarra x Target collection, which has a retro-ish 70s vibe. Included are slinky, snake-print dresses, structured trench coats, bordeaux-coloured velvet pantsuits, silk blouses, maxi dresses both casual and glamorous, Altuzarra’s iconic slit skirts and tuxedo-inspired suits.
The good news is that the collection will be available on line on Net-A-Porter, making the Altuzarra x Target pieces available to Hong Kong. Watch out for the collection when it goes online on September 14.
The collection will be available from 14 September 2014
