Ms. Morgan Tan gives us her Top 3 Beauty Looks for the coming Fall.
Yes we know its still Summer in Hong Kong but let’s move ahead a little to see what’s in store for fall in the Beauty department. We spoke to Morgan Tan, the General Merchandise Manager of Cosmetic at Lane Crawford to get an insight into what’s hot for Fall 09.
Butterboom.com: What are Fall 09’s top 3 looks?
Morgan Tan: Glamorously overdone makeup with bold colours and hues, a return to the 80’s. Key looks:
- Metallic eye make-up
- A new spin at old Hollywood glamour that is more matte than glossy
- Bright lips
Instead of going for entire looks, what do you suggest our readers can take away from the Fall 09 runways to update and create their own individual look?
To update your look for the coming season, we can look at three focus area – the eyes, lips and cheeks.
Eyes: Make the eyes the focus of your dramatic look. Try Stila’s Smudge Pot, which is a unique gel eyeliner and shadow and has an inky intensity that leaves powder shadow in the dust. Great for creating sultry, smoky eye. To add major volume to your lashes, use Giorgio Armani‘s Eyes to Kill Mascara or Stila’s Convertible Mascara.
Lips: Use strong colours on the lips this fall. Bright fuchsia pink is the hot colour for Fall 2009. Go for Yves Saint Laurent’s first gloss stick, Gloss Volupte. Pink shades in deep burgundy and bright red such as Rouge G Lipstick from Guerlain perks up your complexion and keep lips matte for the classic Hollywood effect.
Cheeks: Use Yves Saint Laurent‘s blush Palette Y to give yourself heavy contours as seen on the models at the Marc Jacob’s A/W runway.
