Chanel Illusion D’Ombres de Chanel Collection

Metallic nail polishes and revolutionary new eye-shadows shimmer for Fall.

Mimosa. Jade. Nouvelle Vague. Particuliere. Paradoxal. It might sound like nonsense to some, but any make-up junkie worth their salt will instantly recognise these as some of Chanel’s sell-out nail polishes from the past few seasons. And it looks like they’re going to do it all over again with their latest collection, Fall 2011’s Illusion D’Ombres de Chanel.

In addition to the much-anticipated limited edition nail lacquers, Illusion D’Ombres also serves up a scintillating brand new texture of eye-shadow – Chanel’s first venture into cream eye-shadows in almost a decade.

The new Le Vernis Nail Colours come in three metallic shades that will have you shimmering even on a dull day. Quartz is a silvery beige that’s a little bit different from your average neutral, Peridot is a colour-chameleon that morphs between glimmering green and gold, and Graphite is a pewter-silver with flecks of green and an intriguing foil-esque finish. The latter two are limited editions, so if Chanel’s previous big-hitters are anything to go by, get to a counter quick before these stunners sell out!

The Illusion D’Ombre Luminous Eyeshadows are smoky shimmering shades certain to bring out your inner vamp. These feature a revolutionary silicon gel formula that makes for a gorgeous texture; soft and cushiony to the touch, feather-light on the lid and delivering a beautiful cascade of colour in just one sweep. Crease-free, long-wearing and with an intense luminous effect, these are just what your make-up bag has been waiting for!

Our favourites are Emerveille, a peachy champagne that looks good on every complexion; Epatant, a rich glittering khaki; Illusoire, a multi-dimensional mauve-grey perfect for creating the ultimate smoky eye and Fantasme, a sparkling white-silver that looks beautiful layered underneath other colours to bring out an extra dazzle. These can be used as either shadows and liners and each pot comes with a specially-designed brush. Can you tell that we’re absolutely smitten?!
