Tatcha has just launched an anti-aging cream that contains Indigo to deal with inflamed and irritated skin, symptoms of eczema, rosacea or dermatitis. We want to talk about this product as we know many people who suffers from eczema, rosacea and dermatitis in Hong Kong. These skin ailments are usually associated with stress and pollution so we are excited about Tatcha bringing this product to market.
The story behind the use of indigo can be traced back hundred of years ago in the Edo period where Japanese noble samurai used indigo to heal their injuries by wearing a layer of Indigo-dyed cotton beneath their amour. Tatcha gets their indigo at the banks of the river Yoshino, the same place that Japanese farmers grow Indigo for hundreds of years.
Indigo Soothing Triple Recovery Cream contains Japanese Indigo extract, Colloidal Oatmeal, Sophora Japonica extract that works to reduce inflammation. Backed by scientific research, Indigo has the ability to heal dermatitis, eczema or rosacea and is recommended as a steroid replacement. Steroid is usually a key ingredient prescribed if you have these skin conditions but it has side-effects that include thinning of skin, bruising, discolouration and is only used as short-term treatments so natural replacement like indigo and colloidal oatmeal are better alternatives. The blue hue will disappear on application so don’t worry your skin or clothes won’t stain.
We like that Tatcha’s cream are dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free products that are formulated without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances, sulfate detergents, parabens, phthalates, urea, DEA or TEA. This means that its suitable for the most sensitive skin.
