A Hong Kong beauty brand around since 1898, unlike many other beauty brands that employ retro packaging for purely aesthetic reasons, Two Girls has an interesting story to tell about its name and look.

Started by the House of Kwong Sang Hong over one hundred years ago after its founder grew tired of seeing imported cosmetics that were too expensive for local women, Two Girls became Hong Kong’s first home-grown cosmetics company and has remained popular with traditionalists and tourists alike. It is recognized for its classic but affordable signature products and beautifully nostalgic packaging, featuring old-style images of the eponymous cheongsam-wearing ‘Two Girls’. (The name supposedly comes from a dream where an angel foretold that ‘Two Girls’ would bring good fortune!)

Here’s a closer look at some of the brand’s most successful and long-standing signature products.

Florida Water

This multi-tasking miracle product has so many beneficial properties that you’ll barely need anything else in your bathroom cabinet! It relaxes and relieves tension, stress (and hangovers!), prevents sunstroke and babies’ prickly heat, has sterilising and antiseptic properties, deters mosquitoes, reduces the itching from their bites and has a heady aroma that’s certain to get you feeling nostalgic whatever the occasion.

Living Rose/Lavender Hair Oil

This unique formula which includes Vitamin E is great for treating dry, damaged or dull hair. It adds shine, nourishes, de-tangles and improves the overall condition of your tresses; all with the signature Two Girls scent and without leaving an oily residue either.

Living Rose Face Cream

This non-greasy, easy-to-absorb moisturizer comes packed with liposomes and collagen to keep your skin soft and well-hydrated at all times. It can also be used to prevent nappy rash, soothe sunburn and, although suitable for all skin types, is especially ideal for sensitive complexions.
